Starwagon Lands In Roswell

We were ahead of schedule getting back to Ohio. A fun side trip off of the interstate was in order. Roswell was calling the Starwagon.

Off the interstate, we went. We drove through several small towns that were mostly abandoned. We could tell that at one time these were stops for tourists on the way to tourist attractions like Roswell.

As we drove down the main street in Roswell we saw how the town really embraces it’s UFO history. Many of the business had aliens and UFOs incorporated into their signs and architecture.

We stopped at the Roswell Welcome Center to get our pictures taken with aliens. And a souvenir-pressed penny.

The next stop was the U.F.O. Museum. And more pictures with aliens and alien related items.

Our final stop was at a souvenir shop where we talked to Cassandra who worked there. She said I reminded her of her mother, who had passed a few years before, in looks and mannerisms. It gave her goosebumps talking to me. She said her mother had even bought an old VW bus with plans to travel.

I have to say that was one of the most fascinating and meaningful encounters I have ever had.
